PAWTUCKET, R.I. – The Endicott women's ice hockey team remained undefeated (3-0-0, 1-0-0 CHC) on Friday night as the Gulls bested Johnson & Wales University (JWU) by a 6-0 score at Lynch Arena.
Endicott used a three-goal first period to take a commanding lead from the onset and never looked back against the Wildcats who are still in search of their first win this season (0-3-0, 0-1-0 CHC) in their first year as a NCAA Division III varsity program.
Freshman forward Teneal Perry (Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada) potted her first collegiate goal in a scrum in front of the crease at the 5:18 mark, while classmate Holly Erbe (Woodbine, Md.) buried a slap shot from just inside the blue line at 10:56 on the power play to make it 2-0.
Samantha Fuller (Moretown, Vt.) went on to cap the scoring in the period at 17:05 on feeds by Perry and Lauren Yakush (South Glens Falls, N.Y.).
Endicott proceeded to add a pair of goals in the second period via Maggie Layo (Sandwich, Mass.) and Erbe before scoring one more in the third via freshman Courtney Walpole (Allen, Texas) to completely seal the victory.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Freshman Carrera Noelscher (Georgetown, K.Y.) turned away five shots in her first collegiate start for the Gulls.
- Erbe is the first student-athlete in program history to register a multi-goal game.
- Erbe's power play goal in the first period was also the first power play tally in program history.
- Perry, Erbe, Fuller, Layo, and Walpole scored their first collegiate goals in the win.
- Hazel Brewster (Morrisville, Vt.), Perry, Yakush, Rachel Lustenring (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.), Meaghan Farragher (Bridgewater, Mass.), Lexi Klein (Shoreview, Minn.), and Caroline Hughes (Andover, Mass.) all had assists in the contest. The helpers for Brewster, Perry, Yakush, Lustenring, Farragher, and Hughes were the first of their respective Endicott careers.
- Endicott outshot JWU, 70-5 (the Gulls highest margin against any opponent this season).
- The Gulls won the faceoff matchup, 37-18.
- Endicott has not allowed a goal in its three wins this season (180:00 minutes).
FOR THE FOES
- Sophomore goaltender Kami Weiner (Elk Grove Village, Ill.) turned away a career-high 64 shots.
- Weiner has made 25 or more saves in three contests this season, which included a then career-high 50 saves against Salve Regina on October 30, 2015.
- Freshman forward Caitlin Sweet (Calgary, Alberta, Canada) paced the Wildcats in shots with two shots on goal.

Endicott (3-0-0, 1-0-0 CHC) and Johnson & Wales (0-3-0, 0-1-0 CHC) will complete a home-and-home series tomorrow in Beverly, Mass. at Raymond J.
