Junior Courtney Blake (East Islip, N.Y.) took the circle for the Blue and Green hurling a complete game facing 28 batters with a 76-53 pitch count. Her counterpart, junior Abby Lambert (Brockton, Mass.) also pitched a complete game while recording an impressive nine strikeouts to secure the victory.

Offensively three different Gulls recorded two hits in the game while sophomore Julia McNeill (Hauppauge, N.Y.) tallied the lone RBI for the Gulls. For the Nor'easters freshman Cat Ouellette (Winthrop, Mass.) earned the solo RBI.

The Blue and Green got on the board first in the bottom of the first as McNeill blasted a double to left center with junior Jamie Corda (Higganum, Conn.) on second for the early 1-0 lead. In the top of the fourth the Nor'easters would tie up the game as Lambert walked with bases loaded for junior Amanda Vallante (Dracut, Mass.) to cross home plate for the 1-1 score.

UNE would tab two more runs in the top of the fifth to secure the victory. Ouellette brought in the game-winning run after she singled to left field to send junior Mollie Bartles (Torrington, Conn.) around the bases. The Nor'easters would add an insurance run to end the inning off a throwing error by the Gulls infield for the 3-1 final.
