Courtney Blake Earns CCC Pitcher of the Week Honors

CCC Athletes of the Week (Week Ending April 5, 2015)

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) has released their weekly awards and junior Courtney Blake (East Islip, N.Y.) has been named this week's CCC Pitcher of the Week. The honor marks the first for the pitcher in her career at Endicott. The Gulls currently sit at 8-7 (5-0 CCC) as they look ahead to tomorrow, April 7th for a non-conference double header with Babson starting at 3:00 p.m.

Blake posted an impressive week in the circle for the Blue and Green as she improved to 6-2 on the season with her 3-0 week. Blake hurled three complete games allowing just five runs and one walk in her 22 innings pitched. In the shutout victory over Gordon the junior recorded a career-high 10 strikeouts and allowing just three hits. In the battle with Curry, Blake threw 88 pitches while recording 62 total strikes. In the extra innings triumph with Roger Williams on the road the pitcher recorded four strikeouts, including one for the final out in the eighth inning for secure the victory.

Overall on the season the junior has hurled eight complete games with a 1.53 ERA and total 26 strikeouts. Blake is currently the CCC leader in wins and second in ERA.
