NECC TOURNAMENT: #1 Men’s Volleyball Hosts #4 Elms This Friday

BEVERLY, Mass. – The first-seeded Endicott men's volleyball team will begin its quest to capture its fourth straight conference title on Friday at 4 p.m. when the Gulls host fourth-seeded Elms College in the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Tournament semifinals at MacDonald Gymnasium.

THE MATCHUP: Endicott is 2-0 against Elms this season, and a 27-3 advantage in the all-time series versus the Blazers dating back to January 31, 2003. Troy Riorden (Fairport, N.Y.) has highlighted play for the Gulls in their two matches this season as the sophomore outside has collected 21 kills (3.00 per set), 14 digs (2.00 per set), and compiled a perfect serve-receive percentage on 26 total attempts.

ENDICOTT (15-10 | ROSTER | SCHEDULE | STATS): The Gulls enter Friday's match coming off of a gritty 3-2 comeback win against Daniel Webster last weekend on the road. Endicott's offense currently leads the NECC in kills per set (12.13), assists per set (11.16), and points per set (15.3). The Gulls are also second in hitting percentage (.258), service aces per set (1.37), digs per set (9.82), and blocks per set (1.76).

ELMS (12-14 | ROSTER | SCHEDULE | STATS): The Blazers return to the NECC Tournament for the first time since 2013, when they lost to Endicott in the NECC Championship game by a 3-0 score (27-25, 25-17, 25-20). Elms enters play on Friday ranked fourth in kills per set (10.91) and hitting percentage (.193), while also checking in at third in assists per set (10.07), and fifth in digs per set (8.22).

WHAT TO WATCH FOR: Daniel Toth (Glenwood, N.J.), Alex Wasik (Milford, Mass.), and Jeremy Doski (Sandy Hook, Conn.) all rank inside the top-5 in hitting percentage for Endicott, while Gabriel Reis Levy (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) ranks third in the conference in kills per set (2.87) for Elms.

Match 1: #4 Elms vs. #1 Endicott -4:00 pm

Match 2: #3 Daniel Webster vs. #2 Regis - (40 minutes after the completion of Match 1)

Championship - Saturday, April 9 (No. 1 Endicott)

Match 3: Semifinal Winners – 2:30 pm
