Endicott Men's Volleyball All-Region History

DANBURY, Conn. – Endicott junior outside hitter John Osborne (Freehold, N.J.) became just the fourth player in program history to be named all-region as Osborne was placed on the ECAC Division III Men's Volleyball All-Star Second Team. Osborne, the 2015 NECC Player of the Year, helped the Gulls return to the NCAA Division III Tournament for the third straight season as automatic qualifiers.

In just his third season of collegiate volleyball, Osborne crept into the program's top-10 all-time kill leader list after a career year that saw the outside hitter accumulate 310 kills and 3.69 kills per set on a .234 hitting percentage. He now sits in seventh place all-time with 811 kills and has the opportunity to move up into the top-three by the end of his senior season. Defensively, he also set career-high totals for digs (192), digs per set (2.29), blocks (50), and blocks per set (0.60) as Osborne started in all 29 matches in 2015.

Osborne's 4.45 kills per set average and .325 attacking clip in-conference play helped Endicott to an undefeated mark against NECC opponents during the regular season en route to capturing their third NECC title in-a-row. Out-of-conference, Osborne struck a team best 163 kills, recorded 2.45 digs per set, and amassed 29 of his 50 total blocks as Endicott took on the usual bevy of nationally and regionally ranked programs.

Osborne joins Dan Coleman '09, A.J. Witkofsky '10, and Andrew Slocum '12 as members of the Endicott men's volleyball program who have been honored as all-region during their careers.
