Junior Chandler Tayek Earns NECC Academic All-Conference Honors

ATTLEBORO, Mass.-  Junior outside hitter Chandler Tayek (Rolling Hills Estates, Calif.) was named to the NECC Spring Academic All-Conference team as was announced by the conference office today.  To earn the honors, a student-athlete must be a sophomore or higher in class standing and must have a cumulative gradepoint average of 3.4 on a 4.0 scale.  This marks the second consecutive season in which Tayek has earned the distinction.

Tayek, who is double majoring in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science, currently possesses a 3.63 cumulative GPA.  The California native is currently in Denmark where he is completing an internship before returning to campus to complete his semester-long internship in Beverly, Mass. in the fall.  The outsider hitter set multiple career highs in 2015 that included matches played (28), sets played (87) and digs (106) during the team's run to their third consecutive NECC title and NCAA DIII Men's Volleyball Tournament appearance.
