BEVERLY, MA - The Endicott College men's tennis team took their act off campus on Thursday night, escaping the elements to the friendly indoor confines of the Bass River Tennis Club for a CCC match vs. Eastern Nazarene College. The Gulls returned to their winning form with a decisive, 9-0 win over the visiting Crusaders.
Josh Schoen (Phoenix, AZ/Arcadia) continued his impressive sophomore season with a singles (6-2, 6-0) and doubles victory (8-4) with partner Dan Murray (Coventry, RI/Bishop Hendricken) to get play started for the home team.
Nemanja Marinkovic (Belgrade, Serbia/Second Baptist, Houston, TX) also notched two wins on Thursday, winning his singles match-up over Jack Sahlman (Burlington, CT/The Masters School), 6-1, 6-0, and then took down Sahlman and Tyler Restrick (Bel Air, MD/Bel Air) with teammate Scott Teller (Granville, NY/Granville Junior/Senior High), 9-7.
The win improves Endicott to 7-8 overall and 4-3 in the Commonwealth Coast Conference. The Gulls retake the court on Friday afternoon as they travel to Milton, MA to face the Colonels of Curry College in a match with playoff implications. Curry currently sits one spot behind Endicott in the CCC standings. Game time is scheduled for 4:00 PM.
