HILTON HEAD, SC - The Endicott College men's tennis team finished their spring break opening road trip with back-to-back wins over Asbury and Principia College. The Gulls defeated Principia, 9-0, on Wednesday afternoon in Hilton Head, South Carolina.
The doubles tandem of Josh Schoen (Phoenix, AZ/Arcadia) and Dan Murray (Coventry, RI/Bishop Hendricken) continued their early season success, as the sophomore/freshman duo upped their doubles record to 4-1 with their 8-1 win over Graham Wightman (Minneapolis, MN/Wayzata) and Forrest Bless (Swampscott, MA/Principia Upper School).
Schoen and Murray each won their singles contest, as Schoen bested Wightman, 6-2, 6-2, and Murray took down Bless, 6-0, 6-4. Endicott's Scott Teller (Granville, NY/Granville Junior/Senior High), Marc Maloney (Feeding Hills, MA/Agawam High), Brian Sonneborn (Rye, NH/St Thomas Aquinas) and Nate Buell (Westfield, MA/Westfield) all secured singles wins on Wednesday.
The Gulls return to the North Shore for a March 28th match with the Vikings of cross-town rival, Salem State College. Endicott hosts Salem State at 3:30 PM in Beverly, MA on Wednesday.
