NEW LONDON, CT--Brendan Rampi (North Easton, Mass.) tallied two goals and two assists, leading Connecticut College to a 13-11 victory over Endicott College (9-4) in men's lacrosse action played on Freeman Field Wednesday afternoon.
Chas McLaughlin (Morris Plains, N.J) and Brendan Moses (Medfield, Mass.) each chipped in with two goals and one assist for the hosts, who ended Endicott's winning streak at eight games. Junior Chris Lynn (New Canaan, Conn.) was a disruptive force on the midfield, scoring two goals and collecting a team-high 10 ground balls.
Endicott senior midfielder Kevin Lally (Derry, NH/Pinkerton) amassed three goals and four assists to lead the Gulls (9-4). Burt Fahy (Needham, MA/Needham) and Parker Sowles (Cumberland, ME/Kents Hill) netted three goals apiece for the Gulls.
The Camels (4-5) built a 3-1 lead after one quarter and carried a 5-3 edge into the intermission. In the third quarter, the Camels put up a crooked number, scoring six goals to take control of the game. Brendan Rampi scored his second goal of the day just 41 seconds into the quarter. Chas McLaughlin added a score at 13:08 and the CC lead was four, 7-3. With 12:56 remaining in the quarter, Brendan Moses fed Jesse Stevenson (Marshfield, Mass.) for his 12th score of the season and the hosts enjoyed their largest lead of the day, 8-3.
Later on in the third with just 11 seconds remaining, Kevin Lally provided some momentum for the Gulls with his third goal of the afternoon and the Camel lead was cut to three, 11-8. But the Camels utilized scores from Chris Lynn and Brad Luckhardt (Needham, Mass.) to regain their five goal lead in the fourth quarter. CC was able to hold on for the 13-11 victory.
Senior Ryan Walsh (Weymouth, MA/Weymouth) made 13 saves for Endicott. Randall Morrison (Erdenheim, Pa.) had 11 stops for the Camels.
