No. 9 Men’s Ice Hockey Edges Salve Regina, 3-2

MIDDLETOWN, R.I. — The No. 9 nationally ranked Endicott men's ice hockey defeated Salve Regina, 3-2, in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action on Friday night at St. George's Rink.

Tied 2-2 late in the third period, Andrew Kurapov (Corvallis, Ore.) potted the eventual game-winning goal with under two minutes to play (18:02) to lift the Gulls to the victory.

Endicott carried a 1-0 lead into the third period before Salve Regina responded with back-to-back tallies at 0:56 and 8:17, respectively, for a 2-1 advantage midway through the stanza.

Mitch Shaheen (North Andover, Mass.) wasted little time getting the Gulls back on the scoreboard with his ninth career goal at the 9:54 mark setting up the Kurapov's heroics.

Meanwhile, in goal for Endicott, Conor O'Brien (Pinellas Park, Fla.) stopped 38 shots to push his career record to 36-12-2 overall.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • The Gulls have won four in a row versus Salve Regina dating back to 1/18/2020.
  • O'Brien is one win shy of tying Kevin Aldridge's program record of 37 total (37-13-4).
