WENHAM, MA— In their Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) opener Saturday, the visiting Endicott Gulls blanked local rival Gordon 5-0 at Brigham Athletic Complex. Endicott improved to 4-1 on the year, winning their fourth consecutive game, and improve to 1-0 in the CCC as they begin their title defense. Gordon falls to 1-5 overall and drops to 0-1 in the CCC.

Senior midfielder Taylor Matties (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) and senior forward Melissa Enright (York Beach, Maine) each scored twice and Endicott got 22 saves from senior goalie Taylor Teixeira (Exter, N.H.) in the victory.
The Gulls opened the scoring with back-to-back goals by Matties and Enright in the 14th and 15th minutes, espectively, to jump out to a 2-0 lead that they would hold until the half.

In the second stanza, the Gulls extended that lead to 5-0 in a span of 13 minutes behind Matties' and Enright's second goals of the day and one from senior Hannah Thornberg (Oakland, Maine), who capped the scoring in the 57th minute with her sixth goal of the year.
