BEVERLY, Mass. – For the first time since 2007, Endicott has had members of their field hockey team selected to the National Field Hockey Coach's Association (NFHCA) Division III Senior Game.
Thornberg led the team with 22 goals this year, along the way becoming the all-time scoring leader in Endicott history and setting the record for most goals and most points in a season (51 points). She scored the first goal in NCAA history for Endicott this year with her tally in the Gull's first round game at Utica College.
Teixeira earned her second straight Defensive Player of the Year award in her senior season. She started all 20 games for the Gulls inside the cage and made 114 stops, while allowing just a 1.64 goals against average.
Cipolla just completed her sixth season as the head coach of the Endicott field hockey program, and has compiled a record of 79-44, for a .642 winning percentage. She was named the 2012 CCC Coach of the Year, her second such award after last being named in 2008.
Thornberg and Teixeira are two of just three players from the Commonwealth Coast Conference to earn the honor of playing in this game, joining Laura Egounis of the University of New England.
The NFHCA Senior Game will be played on Saturday, November 17th starting at 4:00 pm.
