Kyle Regan Collects Second NEFC Special Teams Player of the Week Award

BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott kicker and punter Kyle Regan (Nashua, N.H.) did his part in keeping the MIT Engineers at bay in a 34-29 loss in week nine and the sophomore was rewarded with NEFC Special Teams Player of the Week honors. Regan has now won this award twice this season as he previously was recognized for his efforts in a week three win over Kean.

Regan battled the wind and rain on seven punts for an average of 38.6 yards per attempt. Two of his punts went inside the opposition's 20-yard line including one that was downed at the MIT goal line which eventually resulted in a safety for Endicott's first points of the evening. Three other Regan punts resulted in fair catches as the Gulls special teams unit limited the impact of one the NEFC's top return me, Engineers senior Brad Goldsberry (Elizabeth, Colo.).

Regan also converted all three extra-point attempts as Endicott erased a 21-2 halftime deficit to take a 29-28 lead in the fourth quarter before MIT eventually won the game.

Listed among the NEFC's Honor Roll winners for their efforts in week nine were Endicott senior receiver Nate Lewis (Acushnet, Mass.) and sophomore linebacker John Elnagger (Rowley, Mass.). Lewis caught nine passes for 187 yards with two touchdowns and in the process set a new program record for receptions (63) and receiving yards (974) in a single season, passing former Gulls Mike Murphy's '13 mark from the 2012 season. Elnagger registered a game and career-high 18 tackles, one shy of tying the Endicott single-game record, with 1.5 tackles for a loss, a fumble recovery, and a half sack.

Endicott is in action on Saturday, November 8th at NEFC rival Western New England for a 1:00 pm kickoff.
