Kyle Regan Earns NEFC Special Teams Player of the Week Honors

BEVERLY, Mass. – Sophomore kicker/punter Kyle Regan (Nashua, N.H.) has been named NEFC Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance in Endicott's week three victory over Kean 41-28 on the road. Regan scored nine points in the game on two field goals (34, 25) and three extra points while landing four of his five punts inside the Cougars 20-yard line and averaging 55.1 yards with one touchback on kickoffs.

Regan collects his first NEFC Special Teams Player of the Week award in just his fourth collegiate start. He was joined by senior wide receiver Nate Lewis (Acushnet ,Mass.) and sophomore linebacker Marjan Solomon (Waltham, Mass.) on the NEFC weekly awards for week three as Lewis and Solomon earned spots on the Honor Roll.

Endicott captured their first win over a NJAC opponent and their first victory of the season in a 41-28 triumph over Kean down in Union, New Jersey on Saturday. The Gulls benefited from 139 receiving yards and both receiving and passing touchdown from Lewis as well as a 22-yard interception return for a touchdown by Solomon, but Regan's efficiency on special teams was also an integral factor in Endicott's success.

Regan hit a 34-yard field goal with 21 seconds left in the first quarter to increase Endicott's lead to 16-7 and in the fourth quarter provided some insurance with a 25-yard field goal to make it a 34-21 game with 8:05 left in regulation. Regan also capped off three of four touchdowns with extra points. His first extra point bid was blocked.

In the punting game, Regan forced Kean into some unfavorable field position on five of their offensive drives. The Cougars average start position was their own 14-yard line following Regan punts as four of his five attempts landed inside the Kean 20-yard line. Kean was only able to march down the field to score on one of those five drives.

Endicott will look to build on their first victory of the season at next Saturday's Homecoming game against NEFC opponent Curry. Kickoff is at 12:00 pm in the week four conference schedule opener.
