Salve Regina Sweeps No. 16/22 Baseball, 3-2 & 6-5

NEWPORT, R.I. — The Endicott baseball team fell to Salve Regina, 3-2 and 6-5, in conference action on Friday evening at Reynolds Field.

GAME ONE: Salve Regina 3, Endicott 2

WP (1-1): Andrew Roman (Monson, Mass.) — 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 3 K
LP (4-2): Max Tarlin (Sharon, Mass.) — 1 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 0 K

Salve Regina rallied from a 2-0 deficit with a two-run single in the eighth and a walk-off single in the ninth to take game one from the Gulls.

The Gulls received an RBI base knock from Dylan Pacheco (Dartmouth, Mass.) in the second and a solo shot by Nickolas Perkins (Nashua, N.H.) in the eighth. 


GAME TWO: Salve Regina 6, Endicott 5

WP (6-1): Brayden Clark (Beverly, Mass.) — 3 IP, 3 H, 3 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 3 K
LP (2-1) Chris Jenkins (Mansfield, Mass.) — 0 IP, 3 H, 4 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 0 K

Trailing 5-0 in the matchup, the Seahawks pushed across six runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to eventually complete the sweep against the Gulls.

Endicott jumped out to a 5-0 with runs in the second, third, and seventh innings, respectively.

Pacheco accounted for the first two runs with a solo shot in the second and an RBI single in the third.

Jake Nardone (Wakefield, Mass.) also drove in a run with a single in the seventh, while John Mulready (Peabody, Mass.) hit a two-run blast later in the frame to account for the Gulls' scoring.

On the bump, Nicholas Cannata (Marlborough, Conn.) suffered a hard-luck no-decision behind 6 2/3 innings pitched, four hits, one run (earned), one free pass, and nine strikeouts.


WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott (32-7, 14-2 CCC) will be the No. 2 seed in the upcoming Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC Tournament. With the sweep, Salve Regina (26-9-2) has earned the top seed in the upcoming CCC Tournament. The full bracket will be announced by the CCC Office next week.
