Mulready, Tarlin Claim CCC Weekly Honors

CCC RELEASE

BEVERLY, Mass. — Endicott baseball student-athletes John Mulready (Peabody, Mass.) and Max Tarlin (Sharon, Mass.) have earned Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) weekly awards, as announced by the league office earlier today.

Mulready was named the league's Player of the Week, while Tarlin received Pitcher of the Week accolades for their performances during the CCC Tournament last week.

Mulready had a great week for Endicott as the second-seeded Gulls advanced all the way through the CCC Baseball Championship Tournament undefeated to capture the conference crown.

He had hits in every game and five hits in total. Mulready hit one home run, drove in four, and scored seven times during Endicott's CCC Championship run. He also drew six walks.

Mulready batted .455/.667/.727 as his team defeated No. 5 seed Western New England (WNE), No. 3 seed Roger Williams, No. 1 seed Salve Regina, and WNE again to earn their spot at the top of the conference.

Defensively, Mulready was perfect behind the plate, committing no errors in 32 chances, while also throwing out 1-of-2 potential base stealers.

This is Mulready's second career CCC Player of the Week honor (4/18/22).

Meanwhile, Tarlin was lights out for the Gulls during the CCC Baseball Championship Tournament, tossing 4 2/3 innings of shutout baseball.

First, against No. 3 seed Roger Williams, he tossed 3 2/3 of perfect baseball, allowing Endicott the opportunity to walk off against the Hawks and earn Tarlin the W.

He then entered the game in the ninth of the CCC Championship allowing two hits, but eventually slammed the door shut with a game-ending strikeout to pick up the save and the CCC Tournament trophy.

This is Tarlin's first career CCC Pitcher of the Week award.
