No. 3 Endicott Bests No. 2 Salve Regina To Capture CCRC Championship, 51-12

MALDEN, Mass. — The No. 3 nationally ranked Endicott women's rugby team defeated No. 2 Salve Regina, 51-12, in the Colonial Coast Rugby Conference (CCRC) Championship match on Sunday evening at Pine Banks Park.

Jourdan VanAmburgh (Selkirk, N.Y.) was named the Player of the Match for her overall efforts on the pitch.

The Gulls used a balanced attack to beat Salve Regina as nine student-athletes found the try zone.

Katelyn Gemmell (Andover, Mass.), Allyson Belknap (Glen Rock, N.J.), Carolina Stubbs (Newtown, Conn.), Elektra Cheney (Collinsville, Conn.), Melissa Drexler (Duxbury, Mass.), Tess Merrill (Greenwich, N.Y.), VanAmburgh, Cassidy McElhinney (Natick, Mass.), and Caitlin Burke (Dudley, Mass.) all scored in the win. 

Meanwhile, Cheney also added three conversions to her ledger for the Gulls.

WHAT'S NEXT

No. 3 Endicott (5-1) will compete at National Collegiate Rugby (NCR) Regionals next weekend in Syracuse, New York.
