Garth McKinney
Title: Assistant Coach

Garth McKinney begins his first season as an assistant coach with the men's tennis program in 2024-25. He was officially hired on September 23, 2024.

McKinney brings a wealth of knowledge to the program as a player and instructor.

He is currently a high intermediate player (4.0 player) on the National Tennis Rating Program (NTRP) system and captained the United States Tennis Association (USTA) men's team to district and sectional championships.

McKinney played collegiately at Stonehill (then D3) where he was a four-year varsity singles and doubles player. He also earned All-Conference Academic Team honors three times during his career (1992-94).

McKinney has been a member of the USTA since 1998 and has his United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) Professional II certification.

As a coach/instructor, McKinney coached the Manchester-Essex girls tennis team to the 2011 Division 3 state championship. His two-year overall record with the program was 38-3.

He also has coached at Merrimack College (assistant), served as the head tennis professional at the Wingersheek Yacht Club, and worked as a director and/or instructor at the Hercules Country Club, Swarthmore Tennis Camp, and the Bethany Club.
