After leaving Endicott, Mary Oppenheim distinguished herself in the field of Aquatics. She has served as founder and aquatics director for the American Red Cross “Learn to Swim Program,” in Lake George, New York. She taught and judged synchronized swimming from 1955-1969 and was a coach of the 1960 Synchronized Swimming Olympic Tour. Oppenheim authored books on aquatics and water safety while serving as a board member and charter/founding member of the International Swimming Hall of Fame.
