Del Maestro Shatters 100m Hurdles School Record Twice In NCAA Nationals Bid

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — Endicott graduate student Bianca Del Maestro (Malden, Mass.) broke her 100m hurdles school record twice at the MIT Final Qualifier on Thursday evening in another attempt to punch her ticket to nationals.

In the prelims, Del Maestro ranked third overall (second in heat one) with a then-personal best/school record time of 14.60-seconds.

Del Maestro found another gear in the finals crossing the finish line in second place with another personal record/school record time of 14.35-seconds.

She entered the meet with a time of 14.86-seconds etched in the school record books (5/5/23).

Since 2019, Del Maestro has dropped her time in the 100m hurdles by more than three-and-a-half seconds (2019 — 17.98 | 2021 — 17.08 | 2022 — 15.44).

Del Maestro currently ranks No. 25 overall in Division III.

She will find out her nationals fate later this weekend.

Del Maestro would be the first student-athlete in program history to earn a spot and compete at NCAA Nationals, indoor or outdoor.
