STANDISH, Maine – The Endicott women's track and field team placed first overall out of 16 teams at the Saint Joseph's (Me.) Invitational over the weekend.

Husson (117.75), Colby (117), Maine-Fort Kent (87.75), and Emmanuel (54.50) rounded out the top-5.

NEW ENGLAND QUALIFIERS

Nicole D'Angelo (Readfield, Maine) became the first student-athlete in program history to win a heptathlon by scoring a school record 3,601 points against a field of eight other competitors.

D'Angelo accomplished the historic feat behind one school record (SR) performance and six personal records (PR).

She won the shot put (40-6, SR/PR) by nearly 10-feet and the javelin (95-02, PR) by almost 20-feet.

D'Angelo also set PRs in the 800m run (6th, 2:57.91), 200m dash (4th, 28.26), 100m hurdles (3rd, 17.08), and high jump (6th, 4-7.75), while finishing fifth in the long jump (13-7.50).

Her 3,601 points in the heptathlon were 450-plus more than she needed to qualify for New England Regionals. D'Angelo also ranks third in the East Region in the event (30th nationally).

Outside of the heptathlon, D'Angelo ranked second in the pole vault (9-2.25) and fifth in the discus (5th, 109-04, PR).
