Henry, Woods Sweep CCC Weekly Awards

BEVERLY, Mass. — Endicott women's tennis student-athletes Shelby Henry (Lincoln, Neb.) and Amber Woods (Scarborough, Maine) have received Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) weekly accolades, as announced by the league office today.

Henry was named the CCC Player of the Week, while Woods garnered CCC Rookie of the Week honors.

Henry clinched Endicott's CCC victories over Gordon (9/27) and Nichols (9/28) at No. 2 (6-3, 6-2) and No. 4 (6-0, 6-2) singles. She teamed up with Kaitlin Fitzgibbons (Nashua, N.H.) for an 8-6 triumph at No. 2 doubles against Gordon to conclude her week with a 3-0 record.

Meanwhile, Woods went 2-1 overall on the week to help the Gulls to their unblemished record.

Against Gordon, Woods chipped in with a pair of victories at No. 5 singles (6-3, 6-4) and No. 3 doubles (8-2) before playing a highly-competitive No. 6 singles match versus Nichols, eventually falling in the flight by a 4-6, 6-1, 5-10 score.

This is Henry's second career CCC Player of the Week award and the seventh weekly honor she has received from the conference during her career (five Rookie of the Week accolades).

The CCC Rookie of the Week recognition was the first of Woods' career.
