Endicott Falls To UMass Dartmouth In CCRC Championship

CANTON, Mass. –The Endicott women's club rugby team traveled to the Irish American Cultural Center in Canton, Mass. over the weekend for the Commonwealth Coast Rugby Conference (CCRC) championship against UMass Darmouth. The Gulls fell to the Corsairs by a 40-5 score in the contest.

After suffering a loss to UMass Dartmouth on September 27, the Gulls were riding a three-game winning streak coming into Saturdays match-up, but UMass Dartmouth came out strong in the first half and never looked back.

"UMass Dartmouth proved again that they are a great team," said Endicott women's rugby head coach Bob Ryman. "They had great size and it took a toll on us throughout the match."

Stephanie Yepez (Ridgefield, Conn.) was voted MVP of the championship match for the Gulls with another stellar performance.

"I couldn't be more proud of our effort this season advancing to the CCRC championship and it took all 25 of our student-athletes to get to this point." added coach Ryman.

Endicott will find out Saturday who it will face in its 2015 bowl game, which will take place on November 14 at the Irish American Cultural Center in Canton, Mass.
