Gulls Top Western Connecticut, 68-5

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott women's club rugby team hosted Western Connecticut over the weekend and defeated the Colonials 68-5. The match marked the Gulls fourth CCRC matchup of the season.

The Gulls came in to the match looking to rebound after 22-19 loss the Salve Regina. The Blue and Green jumped out to an early lead with a myriad of players contributing both offensively and defensively.

"I was very impressed with our depth at every position" said Endicott women's rugby head coach Bob Ryman. "We had players step up and contribute all over the field and it was great to see them rise to the occasion when their number was called."

Sophmores Sami Bosquet (wilton, N.H.) and Lauren Hervieux (Lincoln, R.I.) led the way in their debut for the Gulls with outstanding play both offensively and defensively. Senior Allison Albanese contributed again this week at the scrum half position while freshman Jordan Zak (Brimfield, Mass.) was also dominant on both sides of the ball.

The Gulls were able to hold a shutout for the majority of the match before Western Connecticut scored in the final minutes of play for a final score of 68-5.

Endicott will return to action against Plymouth State University on October 10th at 10am in a battle of 3-1 teams.
