Dave Kenkel Elevated To Head Men's Rugby Coach

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott Athletics and Recreation Department is pleased to announce the hiring of Dave Kenkel to the position of head coach for the men's rugby program for the 2016-17 academic year. Kenkel, with over 31 years of both playing and coaching rugby experience, had served as an assistant coach with the men's program prior to becoming the team's head coach.

As an assistant coach during the 2015-16 season, Kenkel helped the men's team to an overall record of 14-7 and a spot in the National Qualifier 7's Championship. 

"I am looking forward to bringing a fast pace entertaining style of play to the pitch as head coach of the Endicott men's rugby team," said Kenkel.

Prior to his time at Endicott, Kenkel spent six years serving as the head coach of Flathead Valley Youth Rugby program compiling a record of 45-4 since 2009. Kenkel also saw numerous alumni go on to play at the college ranks and also as part of the U.S. Women's National Team.

Kenkel is a University of Colorado Graduate, where he played on the men's rugby team from 1985-1987. Following his collegiate career, Kenkel played on several squads including: Western U.S. Select Side, .U.S. Junior Select Side, Washington Rugby Club, Maryland Exiles and Eastern U.S. Select Side.
