Ryan Sutherland Named NECC Player Of The Week

NECC WEEKLY RELEASE 

BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott senior middle Ryan Sutherland (Fairport, N.Y.) has been named the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Player of the Week for the second time in his career, as announced by the league office earlier today. 

Last week, Sutherland aided Endicott to a 1-1 record in matches against No. 9 NYU (3-2 loss) and Regis (3-0 win) with 12 kills (1.50 k/s), a .526 hitting percentage, one assist, and five block assists. In the Gulls' 3-2 loss to No. 9 NYU, Sutherland hit .545, notched eight kills, and registered two block assists. 

WHAT'S NEXT 

The Gulls (19-10, 12-0 NECC) will host the winner of fifth-seeded Newbury and fourth-seeded Eastern Nazarene in the NECC Tournament semifinal round on Thursday, April 13 at 7 PM. As the No. 1 seed in the NECC Tournament, Endicott will then host the NECC Tournament championship match if the Gulls go on to beat either Newbury or Eastern Nazarene later this week on Thursday.
