NECC MEN'S VOLLEYBALL WEEKLY RELEASE

BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott men's volleyball student-athletes Daniel Toth (Glenwood, N.J.) and Bryn Lipton (Rockford, Ill.) have both earned weekly awards from the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) for their efforts in matches played from January 12-28. Toth was named the NECC Player of the Week, while Lipton garnered Rookie of the Week honors.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Toth powered Endicott's offense in its 4-6 start to the season, which features matches against four nationally ranked teams, and three other teams who were receiving votes in the AVCA poll. During that stretch, the senior middle compiled 64 total kills (2.00 k/s), a staggering .402 hitting percentage, eight digs, and 25 total blocks (0.78 b/s). He also accumulated 81.0 points over 10 matches, and 2.5 pts/s. His 25 total blocks leads the conference through the first month of the season, while his .402 hitting percentage nearly doubles any other student-athlete in the conference per a minimum of 100 total attempts. Nationally speaking, Toth currently ranks No. 21 in hitting percentage, and No. 45 in blocks per set.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Lipton guided Endicott to a 4-6 overall record to start the season in a schedule that featured four nationally ranked teams, and three others that received votes in the AVCA poll. In 10 matches played, Lipton registered 92 kills (2.71 k/s), a .172 hitting percentage, seven service aces, 44 digs (1.29 d/s), 13 total blocks (six BS, seven BA, 0.38 b/s), 108.5 points, and 3.2 pts/s. His 92 kills rank first in the conference by 16, while his service aces are third, digs sixth, and his points total ranks first. Alongside those stats, Lipton registered 10 or more kills in four matches, including a career-high 17 versus MIT in a 3-2 comeback victory over the Engineers last Saturday. Among the national leaders, Lipton ranks No. 86 in points per set, and No. 62 in attacks per set.
