CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Endicott College, the 10th-ranked team in the North East Collegiate Volleyball Association, defeated Lesley University 3-0 (30-9, 30-12, 30-23) on Monday evening in Cambridge, Mass. With the victory, the Gulls improve to 15-7 (9-0 NECVA) while Lesley drops to 1-14 (1-9 NECVA, 1-4 NECC) on the season.
Endicott's John Emery (Westford, Mass.) and Jeremy Siden (Natick, Mass.) helped the Gulls complete the season sweep of the Lynx by spiking home eight kills each. Freshman Joshua Bruno (Andover, Mass.) also chipped in with seven kills of his own as Endicott hit an efficient .366 as a team in the win.
The Gulls' B.J. Worth (Londonderry, N.H.) impressed in the second set, the only one he would play in, as the junior recorded five kills on seven attacks.
For the Lynx, Nick Assad (Andover, Mass.) led his squad with a team-high five kills on 13 total attacks. Zachary Almeida-Beers (Rehoboth, Mass.) and Alejandro Lazo (Boston, Mass.) each contributed with four kills in the loss.
Assad also recorded three solo blocks in the match as Lesley was able to out block Endicott 6.0-2.0 for the match.
Lesley will next play Southern Vermont College on Saturday, February 28 while Endicott travels to Southern Vermont on Wednesday to play the Mountaineers.
