Daniel Receives Endicott's First Conference Award of the Season

SPRINGFIELD, Mass.-  After recording consecutive five point games, freshman Jordan Daniel (Canton, Conn.) was named the Commonwealth Coast Conference Offensive Player of the Week.  The standout forward now has nine goals and two assists on the season.

Daniel was able to start the week off with a two goal and one assist performance against cross-town rival Gordon.  The forward started the scoring off in the 10th minute as he found the back of the net off of a feed from fellow freshman Zach Rizzo (Redding, Conn.).  Daniel was able to tally an assist on Alex Tonsberg's (Westport, Conn.) goal just five minutes later.  Ten minutes after Tonsberg's goal, in the 25th minute, Daniel was able to score his seventh goal of the season on a solo effort.  Against Gordon, Daniel was able to record two goals and an assist in a span of 15 minutes.

With the Gulls then playing host to Curry on Saturday, Daniel continued his impressive play as he duplicated the feat he achieved against Gordon.  With the score knotted at 1-1 to start the second half, Daniel sprinted nearly 40 yards to drop off a pass to Tonsberg who buried it in the back of the net in the 49th minute.  With his speed beginning to wear down the defenders, Daniel kept the pressure on and was able to to find the back of the net twice within seven minutes.  In the 53rd minute, Jordan was able to get by the defense and snap a shot on frame that beat the keeper for his eighth of the season.  Seven minutes later in the 60th minute, Daniel again found himself in the box with the ball at his feet.  After battling for possession with defenders, Daniel was able to get the shot off and record his ninth goal of the season and second straight five point effort.

Daniel now has six goals and two assists in his last four matches.  The freshman looks to keep his play going as Endicott travels to Maine on Wednesday to play Saint Joseph's at 3:30 p.m.
