Durben and Kanter tabbed for CCC Weekly Honors
CCC Athletes of the Week Release

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. –
The Endicott men’s soccer team earned two wins over conference opponents last week and a last second, game-winning goal by sophomore midfielder Bobby Durben (Stow, Mass.) and two shutouts by freshman goalie Aaron Kanter (Medfield, Mass.) were recognized as this week’s outstanding performances by the CCC.

Durben was named Offensive Player of the Week after he lifted the Gulls to a 1-0 win over Nichols on Homecoming Saturday with a game-winning goal with less than one second left in regulation.  Durben collected a loose ball across midfield, avoided the approaching goaltender and sent a long range shot into an open net.  It was his first goal of the season.

Kanter continued his dominance between the posts during Endicott’s 6-0-1 unbeaten streak over the past seven matches.  In a 2-0 week for the Gulls, Kanter recorded his fifth and sixth shutouts of the season while making a total of nine saves on the week.  He now has a 0.71 goals against average after another Endicott win last night, a 2-0 shutout over non-conference rival Suffolk.

The Gulls return to the pitch on Wednesday, October 19th for a conference match up against Wentworth at Endicott Stadium.  The match starts at 4:00 pm.  Wednesday will also be Senior Day for Endicott who will honor their five seniors, Chris Serpa (Bristol, R.I.), Gregory Capece (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.), Jared Rizzo (Peabody, Mass.), Ryan Coates (Wethersfield, Conn.), and Nick Goldman (South Windsor, Conn.).
