Gulls Throttle Wentworth In Regular Season Finale, 89-19

BEVERLY, Mass. - The Endicott men's rugby club faced off against Wentworth Institute of Technology in their last game of the season, and defeated the Leopards 89-19.

The Gulls great first half started out with a run by sophomore Nick Blondin (Paxton,Mass.), which set up senior Marc Lerebours (Norwalk, Conn.) to score an early try for the Gulls. Senior captain Brian Sussingham (Yonkers, N.Y.) kept things going by scoring off of another huge run across the field. The Leopards rallied to score what would be their only try of the first half.

The Gulls then responded quickly scoring four more tries by the end of the half, two of which came from senior Keenan Bassett (Lowell, Mass.), and the others coming from seniors Nick Rowe (Avon, Conn.) and Lerebours. The Gulls led 38-5 going into halftime.

It didn't take the Gulls long to score more after coming back from halftime. Nick Rowe (Avon, Conn.) was able to score a short try from the backline, and further extend Endicott's lead. The Leopards came back, quickly scoring their second try of the game. The Gulls responded to this with two more tries coming from seniors Nick Iavicoli (Kalispell, M.T.) and Conor O'Neill (Chester, N.J).

The Leopards scored their third and final try of the match after having battled the Gulls on the try-line for a few minutes. The Gulls answered the Leopards try by scoring six more times by the end of the match.

Two of those six came from Lerebours and the rest came from seniors Connor Moulton (Falmouth, Mass.), Sussingham, Marjon Solomon (Waltham, Mass.), and Tom Oliva (Rutland, Mass.). Out of the fifteen tries scored, four of them were converted by senior Jesse Adelberg (Old Greenwich, Conn.), and the three others were converted by junior Brayden Nielsen (Essex Junction, V.T.), Kidder Spillane (Shelburne, V.T.) and Rowe.

The honor of "Man of the Match" doesn't go to any one individuals, but to all of the seniors on the team, for their hard work and effort over the years. They have led the team to another great season. Prior to the match, all of Endicott's seniors were honored in a pre-game ceremony for their contributions towards the program and the College.
