Endicott Remains Undefeated In 57-17 Victory Over Wheaton (Mass.)

BEVERLY, Mass. – In their third match of the 2015 season, the Endicott men's rugby team defeated Wheaton (Mass.) 57-17, in Colonial Coast Rugby action last Saturday. The Endicott men's rugby team came into the match after opening the 2015 season with two Colonial Coast Rugby Conference (CCRC) victories over Mass Maritime and Western New England.

The Gulls struck first jumping out to an early lead against Lyons and never looked back.

"I was very impressed with our discipline early on in the match," said Endicott men's rugby head coach Bob Ryman. "We jumped out to an early lead in the first few minutes of the match and we never looked back thanks to solid play on offense and defense."

The Blue and Green were led offensively this week by junior Caleb McMullin (North Granby, Conn.) and sophomore John Clavin (North Providence, R.I.) at the scrum-half position. Coach Ryman also credited the victory to the Gulls play at the forward position saying "We have been practicing the concept of working in pods. Our forwards were instrumental in implanting this concept and it contributed significantly to our victory."

Endicott (3-0 CCRC) will travel to Plymouth State University (3-0 CCRC) on Saturday October 10 for a conference match-up against the Panthers.
