Gulls place 11 on TCCC All-Conference Teams

BEVERLY, Mass. - The Commonwealth Coast Conference Commissioner Gregg M. Kaye announced that 11 Endicott College men's lacrosse players have earned a spot on the 2009 TCCC All-Conference Teams, more than any other institution in the conference. The Gulls have six First Team selections, two Second Team honorees and three Honorable Mention recipients. Voting for the All-TCCC teams and each of the major awards was conducted among TCCC men's lacrosse coaches.

Nick Cosco (Londonderry, N.H.) headlines the Gulls' First Team honorees as the senior attackman leads the team with 36 goals and is second on the team in total points (53). Senior midfielder Eddie O'Reilly (Beverly, Mass.) also earned First Team recognition as he posted 26 goals and 11 assists with a team-best four game-winning goals, while face-off man Joe Gugino (West Hartford, Conn.) won 67.7% of his draws and led the team in groundballs with 113 to take First Team specialist honors. Long-stick midfielder Alex Marshall (Eliot, Maine) led the team in caused turnovers as the graduate student had 33 takeaways and 49 groundballs, while fellow First Team selection Adrien Peacock (Billerica, Mass.) had 13 strips to go along with 38 groundballs. Junior goalkeeper Eric Hagarty (Sudbury, Mass.) rounds out the First Team honorees with 126 saves and 99 goals against for a 56% save percentage and a 12-3 overall record.

Endicott's Brandon Dube (Danvers, Mass.) and Dan Cain (Billerica, Mass.) each were named to The Commonwealth Coast Conference Second Team. Dube led the Gulls in total points as he scored 34 goals to go along with 20 assists, including a potent eight goals on the man-advantage. Cain, also a senior, notched 24 goals and 11 assists from the midfield position.

Junior midfielder Brad Lipkvich (Madison, Conn.), senior defenseman Mike Amato (Medford, Mass.) and sophomore defenseman Robert Crossett (Katonah, N.Y.) all received Honorable Mention recognition. Lipkvich posted a well-rounded 15 goals and 16 assists while Crossett was third on the team in groundballs (42) and second in caused turnovers (24). Amato ranked third in takeaways with 15 and also scooped up 25 groundballs on the season.

Student-athletes from seven different institutions in The Commonwealth Coast Conference were represented on the 2009 All-TCCC Men's Lacrosse Team. In addition to the all-conference team, winners of five major individual awards and the team sportsmanship award were also selected. Western New England College senior Brody Savoie was named TCCC Offensive Player of the Year, Western New England College senior Jared Pabis was picked as TCCC Defensive Player of the Year, Western New England College freshman Brewster Knowlton was chosen TCCC Rookie of the Year, Salve Regina's Brian Walker and Wentworth's Chris Wesche were honored as TCCC Senior Scholar Athletes of the Year, Salve Regina University's Patrick Cooney was honored as TCCC Coach of the Year, and University of New England was the recipient of the Team Sportsmanship Award.
