Logan Day Signs Contract Extension With AHL’s Lehigh Valley Phantoms

BEVERLY, Mass. — Former Endicott men's ice hockey student-athlete Logan Day (Seminole, Fla.) has signed an American Hockey League (AHL) contract extension with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms for the 2021-22 season, as announced by the organization earlier today. Day was previously on a one-year deal for only the 2020-21 season.

Day, 26, has scored one goal and six assists for seven points in his eight games played with the Phantoms this season.

Day previously spent the past two years with the Bakersfield Condors in the AHL where he amassed 130 career games scoring 16 goals with 43 assists for 59 career points. Day led all Bakersfield defensemen in scoring in 2018-19 with seven goals and 27 assists for 34 points while achieving a plus-14 rating.

Meanwhile, during his time at Endicott, Day ended his career with the Gulls as the program's No. 2 all-time leading scorer and top-scoring defenseman via 78 points (30g, 48a) in 56 career games (2016-18).

In 2017-18, Day became the first-ever defenseman to earn Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Player of the Year honors in 2017-18. That feat has yet to be duplicated in the short history of the league.

Day's other accolades in a Gulls' sweater include two appearances on the Joe Concannon Award list, highlighted by his finalist appearance in 2016-17, one All-America selection, one All-Region honor, two CCC All-Conference First Team laurels, and one CCC Academic All-Conference award.

As a program, Endicott has produced nine professional hockey players since its first NCAA varsity season in 2015-16. Day represents the pinnacle of those nine players as he was the first to sign a pro deal in program history and is the only player to reach the AHL ranks, thus far.
