Pro Gulls Making Their Mark

BEVERLY, Mass. – Since its first NCAA Division III varsity season in 2015-16, the Endicott men's ice hockey program has produced nine professional hockey players. Here's a quick update on what our Pro Gulls have been up to in their respective 2020-21 seasons.

GULLS IN THE PROS

Logan Day, #22, Defenseman

NEED TO KNOW: Day has scored one goal and dished out one assist (+2) in two games for the Phantoms (1-0-1 during that span). Lehigh travels to Binghamton this Friday (2/19) with puck drop scheduled for 7 PM. Friday's game will feature two former Gulls as ex-Endicott strength and conditioning coach/athletic trainer Jon Williams is currently in his second season as the head athletic trainer for the Devils.

NEED TO KNOW: Olsson has played in five games (0 G, 1 A, 1 P) since joining the Fuel midway through the 2020-21 regular season. Olsson, who is playing in the second-best minor professional league in the U.S., is coming off a 2019-20 season where he scored 12 goals and dished out eight assists for 20 points as a member of the Worcester Railers. As for his current team, the Fuel are scheduled to play the Fort Wayne Komets on Wednesday, February 17 at 7:05 PM. Indy currently sits atop the ECHL standings with a 15-3-1-0 record.


Josh Bowes, #8, Center | Jason Kalinowski, #20 Right Wing | Tommy Besinger, #63, Left Wing

NEED TO KNOW: Bowes currently highlights the trio with two goals in eight games played. Kalinowski registered his first career point, an assist on January 29, while Besinger has two helpers in three games. The Havoc are scheduled to suit up next on February 21 at 4:05 PM (CST).


Jacob Gammelgaard, #28, Defenseman
Metal Ligaen (Denmark) | Rungsted Seier Capital | Team Schedule

NEED TO KNOW: Gammelgaard is currently averaging 10:28 of ice time for the first place Rungsted Seier Capital (25-7-7-1). Gammelgaard has also aided Rungsted Seier Capital to a league-best goals allowed total (96), in addition to tallying 21 hits and blocking 10 shots.


Jack Musil, #24, Forward
Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL) | Glasgow Clan | Return To Play in September 2021

NEED TO KNOW: Musil has played two seasons (2019-20 shortened) with the Clan amassing 14 points (5 G, 9 A) during that span.


OTHER PRO GULLS ALUMNI

Anthony Petrella M'20 (M.B.A.) played for the Fayetteville Marksmen (SPHL) during the 2017-18 season. Petrella, who was the third student-athlete in Endicott men's ice hockey program history to turn pro, currently works for Cynet Security as a Sales Development Representative.

Meanwhile, Carter Horwitz '19 (finance major) played for the Macon Mayhem (SPHL) in 2018-19. Horwitz currently works for Wellington Management as a business associate. Horwitz, who took part in Wellington Management's Business Associate Program prior to landing his job with the company, also won a Silver Medal at the 2017 Maccabiah Games
