Men’s Golf Places Fifth Overall At 86th Annual NEIGA Championship

BREWSTER, Mass. — The Endicott men's golf team placed fifth overall at the 86th annual New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) Championship. The two-day event was played at The Captains Golf Course (par 72) this past Sunday (10/17) and Monday (10/18).

Babson took top honors among the 16-team field via a two-day score of 591 (291-300, +15).

Meanwhile, the remainder of the top-5 included second-place Husson (629, 311-318), a tie between Salem State (633, 318-15) and Springfield (633, 318-315) for third overall, and fifth-place Endicott (635, 316-319).

The Gulls top-5 finish also ranked the best among six other Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) competing schools in the tournament, most notably Nichols (6th, 640), the University of New England (11th, 653), and Suffolk (14th, 704) — all of whom Endicott will face off against in the league championship later this spring.

Individually, Nicholas Grimbilas (Strafford, N.H.) and Tyler Baker (Falmouth, Maine) highlighted the Gulls' efforts as the duo both placed inside the top-18 of the 80-person field.

Grimbilas placed 13th overall (tied) with a two-day score of 156 (77-79), while Baker ranked 15th (tied) behind a score of 157 (79-78).

Following Grimbilas and Baker were Brady Burke (Bedford, N.H.) in 22nd (tied, 159, 77-82), Samuel Goldstein (Providence, R.I.) in 36th (tied, 163, 83-80), and Kyle Mahoney (Braintree, Mass.) in 63rd (173, 88-85), respectively.
