Endicott Finishes 14th at Duke Nelson Invitational

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. - The Endicott men's golf team opened the 2021 fall season this weekend and came away with a 14th place finish at the Duke Nelson Invitational at the Ralph Mhyre Golf Club. The two-day event saw the Gulls post a day one total of 314 before nothing a 318 on day two.

Leading the way for Endicott was junior Nicholas Grimbilas (Strafford, N.H.) who finished tied for 27th in the field of 113. Grimbilas shot identical rounds of 76 over the two days, finishing +10. Freshman Brady Burke (Bedford, N.H.) impressed in his collegiate debut, tying for 36th after posting a two-day total of 154 (74-80).

Tyler Baker (Falmouth, Maine)Kyle Mahoney (Braintree, Mass.), and Jack Bushee (Bennington, Vt.) closed the scoring for the Gulls.

BEYOND THE SCORECARD

  • Baker, Mahoney and Bushee all shot rounds of 81 on day two.
  • Burke is the program's lone freshman in 2021.
  • Grimbilas gets off to a strong start in the fall after claiming Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Golfer of the Year honors in the spring.

WHAT'S NEXT

The Gulls will travel to Old Orchard Beach, Maine on Wednesday to compete in the CCC Fall Championship Qualifier. The top four seeds at the qualifier will earn the right to compete for the CCC title in the spring.
