Endicott College offers a comprehensive program of competitive sports, fitness activities, and opportunities for recreation through its intramural activities. Having the opportunity to participate in both formal and informal recreational outlets is a vital part of everyday life at Endicott. The Intramural office is open for questions, suggestions, and information on upcoming sports, roster deadlines, and schedules. Stop by the Post Center today or select one of the seasons/sports to view what we offer.

For more information contact: Steve Angelo at sangelo@endicott.edu or call 978-232-2383.

How To Sign Up

Roster forms can be found online by clicking on the desired sport or by picking up from the drop box at the intramural table as you enter the Post Center. Rosters can be submitted for any of the sports at any time. (Please make note of the Captain's meeting so that you can attend). All Captain's meetings will be held in room \#110 of the Post Center.

Entry/Roster Forms

Team rosters must be submitted on official Intramural entry blanks. Names of each member of the team must be completed on the roster. This serves also as the insurance waiver, no team member can participate in an intramural contest without filling out this information. These forms are available at the Post Center Front Desk or on the website that corresponds to that sport (in the righthand column). Rosters will only be accepted via email or passed in to the Post Center Front Desk.

A \$20.00 refundable forfeiture fee is due upon submission of the official roster. Teams will get the \$20 back if they do not forfeit any games, 100% attendance is required. If a team is unable to attend a game, they must let the intramural director know, so the game can be changed rather than forfeited.

New players may be added to a roster at any time. Added players must play in at least 1/3 of the regular season games in order to be eligible for Playoffs. Contestants may not be on more than one roster in one sport. When a person's name appears on a game sheet, he or she is considered to have played in that game, and consequently is officially on that team.

Code of Conduct

Intramural sports competition is for the enjoyment of all its participants. As part of its objectives, it should be providing a healthy outlet for the release of one's energies and competitiveness. Secondly, it should provide a social outlet for the participant, while also being fun.

Inappropriate conduct (including, but not limited to the abuse of referees, unnecessary roughness, fighting, profanity, etc.) may result in the immediate forfeiture of the contest, suspension of the participant from further Recreational programs, and/or referral of the participant to the proper campus authorities.

Players removed from any intramural contest by an official or supervisor for any reason are suspended from all intramural activity and must personally seek reinstatement from the intramural director before they participate again.

New Policies

Intramurals at Endicott will have new policies in place in order to make intramurals a much more fun and enjoyable atmosphere. The two biggest areas of complaint from last year were sportsmanship and referee performance. So in order to help make this better we have come up with scoring systems for both sportsmanship and officiating. The full explanation of each is below. Sportsmanship Policy

This year there will be a new scoring system in effect in all sports. Due to actions in the past it seems important that sportsmanship play a role in the overall performance grading of a team. For now on teams in every league will be graded on their sportsmanship. Sportsmanship will play a large role is whether your team can make it into the playoffs. Due to this individuals should show good sportsmanship at all times in order to make it so that the only deciding factor in playoff birth is athletic performance.

Referee Policy

Another addition is in place to will allow the referees to be graded on their performance. It is important for officials to perform well so that everyone feels that the game was fair. This of course takes away from the fun of the activity. Although I feel that the referees do their best when officiating this new system will help to ensure that they stay focused on doing their job and that people can give advice through grading on what they can do better.

Both policies are meant to improve the intramural program and hope that everyone will look at them in this way. We look forward to seeing you in the Post Center and on the field for some intramurals action either as a spectator or player!
