BEVERLY, Mass. - Endicott College is pleased to announce the promotion of Brian Wylie to the Director of Athletics position effective January 28, 2008. Brian has served as the Director of the Post Center since its opening in 1999.
Wylie, one of the original founders of men's athletics at Endicott, takes over the Athletic Department for the departing Larry Hiser. Wylie has been instrumental in the facility development that has taken place on the Beverly campus, aiding in the development, design, and construction of the multi-purpose Fieldturf® stadium and one of New England's finest softball facilities. As AD, Brian will oversee 18 varsity sports split evenly between men and women.
Wylie brings an historical perspective to the Athletic Director position, as he served as the Coordinator of Student life from 1995-97 and also started the men's lacrosse program in 1995. Brian has continued his athletic success at Endicott by starting the varsity club men's hockey team in 2002. Wylie has amassed a 42-29-4 record as head hockey coach and also led the Gulls to a top-10 regional ranking with program aspirations to reach NCAA Division III status.
Brian Wylie earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Saint Anselm College in 1993, where he played defense on the Hawks' hockey team and midfield for the lacrosse program. Wylie has since gone on to earn a Master of Education degree in Organizational Development from Endicott College in 2002.
"This opportunity allows me to reinforce the three passions I have in my life with education, athletics, and family as a standard for the Endicott athletic programs," said Wylie. "By working closely with tremendous coaches, faculty and staff, along with premier student-athletes, I'm confident that we can elevate this program as a benchmark for which other collegiate programs can emulate."
