BEVERLY, Mass. - Endicott College defensive back Pego Jean-Paul (Deltona, Fla.) leads a list of 208 student-athletes named to the New England Football Conference Academic All-Conference team. Jean-Paul, a computer science major, was named the winner of the Conference's Hal Chalmers Award for the Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
To qualify for the All-Academic team, a student-athlete must have played his sophomore, junior or senior season of eligibility and maintained a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 through the most recently completed fall semester.
Jean-Paul currently carries a cumulative 3.66 grade point average. He is a member of Endicott College's Honors Program and Sigma Beta Delta, the business and computer science honor society. He has also successfully completed four different internships as an undergraduate.
On the field Jean-Paul is a two-time captain and was selected to All-NEFC teams each of the last three years. As a senior he had 53 Tackles to go with 4 Interceptions. He was also a D3football.com All-Region selection in 2005, and a New England Football Writers College Division All-New England selection in 2007.
In addition, Jean-Paul has applied and been selected to join the Peace Corps to serving in a French-speaking country in Africa after graduation in the spring.
