Women's Soccer Cruises Past Gordon, 2-0
WENHAM, Mass. — The Endicott women's soccer team downed crosstown rival Gordon, 2-0, in Saturday afternoon's Conference of New England (CNE) matchup at Brigham Athletic Complex.
Early goals from Samantha Klimas (North Andover, Mass.) (10:20 mark) and Lily Miller (Warwick, R.I.) (15:16) put the Gulls up by two scores through the first 45.
Klimas buried her first of the season after Olivia Pardo (Latham, N.Y.) weaved through the right side and sent a perfectly placed ball to the middle of the box, where Klimas was waiting for the one-timer score.
Then, just five minutes later, Miller earned a penalty kick opportunity that she converted on to add some first insurance.
In the second half, the Gulls continued to control the pace of play, and held Gordon to just two shots in the period.
Samantha MacCormack (Danvers, Mass.) made her eighth start of the season and improved to 6-3-0 (third straight shutout, sixth career).
