WENHAM, Mass. — The Endicott women's basketball team fell to Gordon, 83-72, in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action on Saturday afternoon at the Bennett Center.
Emily St. Thomas (Sterling, Mass.) led the Gulls with a career-high 21 points (7-19 FG, 3-9 3PT, 4-4 FT), five rebounds, and five assists.
Katelyn Konareski (Milford, Conn.) pitched in with 14 points, while Tara Laugeni (Woodbridge, Conn) and Sarah Dempsey (Windham, N.H.) added 12 and 11 points, respectively.
Gordon raced out to a 22-9 lead in the first quarter and never trailed in the matchup.
The Fighting Scots shot a blistering 64.3% from the field and 83.3% from three-point range in the first half to seize momentum for the rest of the contest.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Despite the loss, Endicott leads the all-time series 31-15.
- The Gulls pulled within three, 73-70, with 2:16 to play in the contest, but Gordon responded with a 7-0 run to secure the win.
- Endicott forced 22 Fighting Scots miscues, resulting in 24 points from those turnovers.
- The Gulls' bench outscored Gordon's reserves, 45-5.
WHAT'S NEXT
Endicott (7-12, 5-7 CCC) hosts Nichols on Wednesday, February, 1 at 5:30 PM. Gordon (10-9, 8-4 CCC) will remain at home to take on Curry this Wednesday at 5:30 PM.
