BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott women's basketball team defeated Gordon College, 67-57, in conference action on Tuesday night at MacDonald Gymnasium.
Trailing 50-49 with 7:38 left to play in the contest, the Gulls produced a 9-0 run to take a 57-50 lead with 4:00 remaining and never relinquished the lead the rest of the way.
Four different scorers contributed to the game-changing 8-0 run, while Endicott outscored the Fighting Scots 18-7 in total over the last seven-plus minutes to seal the win.
Tara Laugeni (Woodbridge, Conn.) paced all scorers with 19 points, six rebounds, three steals, and two blocks.
Emily St. Thomas (Sterling, Mass.), Katelyn Konareski (Milford, Conn.), and Sarah Dempsey (Windham, N.H.) all notched double-digit performances with 14, 13, and 12 points, respectively.
Libby Fleming (Bangor, Maine) rounded out the list of individual highlights with four points, 10 rebounds, three blocks, two assists, and a steal.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Endicott is 31-14 all-time against Gordon.
- The Gulls dominated in points off turnovers (17-4), fast break points (15-2), and bench points (17-8) in the victory.
- Endicott recorded season-highs for steals (15) and blocks (8), while also forcing the most turnovers against any of their opponents this season (22).
- Laugeni (2), Dempsey (2), Konareski (3), and St. Thomas (1) all factored into the fourth quarter 8-0 run.
- Dempsey led the Gulls with a team-high seven points from the 7:38 mark of the fourth until the end of the contest.
- She went 1-for-1 from the field (layup at 5:17, 53-50 lead) and 5-for-8 from the free throw line during that span.
- Endicott trailed by as many as 14 points with 4:07 left in the first.
- The Gulls did not take their first lead of the contest until the 2:03 mark of the third (40-39).

Endicott (4-7, 2-2 CCC) travels to Western New England on Thursday, January 5 at 5:30 PM. Gordon (3-8, 1-3 CCC) hosts Wentworth this Thursday at 5:30 PM.
