Men's Lacrosse Garners Road Conference Win over Roger Williams
BRISTOL, R.I. – The Endicott men’s lacrosse team improved to 2-0 in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) play following a 13-5 road victory over Roger Williams on Saturday afternoon. The Blue and Green, ranked #17 according to the USILA Division III poll last week, are now 5-2 overall heading into their neutral site match up with Middlebury at Brown University on Tuesday, March 25th at 5:00 pm.

BRISTOL, R.I. – The Endicott men's lacrosse team improved to 2-0 in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) play following a 13-5 road victory over Roger Williams on Saturday afternoon. The Blue and Green, ranked #17 according to the USILA Division III poll last week, are now 5-2 overall heading into their neutral site match up with Middlebury at Brown University on Tuesday, March 25th at 5:00 pm.
Endicott sophomore goalie Cameron Bell (Falmouth, Maine) made 10 saves between the pipes for his fifth win of the season as he faced 29 shots including 15 on goal. Bell was backed by a stingy defensive front that totaled 15 caused turnovers with senior Breck Merritt (Weston, Mass.) eclipsing his career-high for caused turnovers in a game with seven. His previous record was six back on April 22nd, 2012 against Bowdoin. Junior Chris Cooney (Cranston, R.I.) forced two turnovers with six other players registering a caused turnover.
Offensively, junior attackman Kyle Weber (West Hartford, Conn.) totaled five points on the day with three goals scored and two assists. One of his assists went to junior midfielder Harrison Cotter (Lordship, Conn.) who led all players with four goals and the other went to junior attacker Nick Pinciaro (Beverly, Mass.) who finished with a hat trick and one assist himself.
Cotter now has 16 goals on the season, one shy of freshman Colin Bannon (Westport, Conn.) who scored once and assisted on another. Bannon, Cotter, and Weber are all tied for the team lead in points with 21.
Chipping in offensively for the Gulls were junior midfielders Jeremy Morgan (Lake Panamoka, N.Y.) and Sam Scoba (Franklin, Mass.) who each tallied a goal. Scoba's goal was his first of the season while Morgan upped his season total to 11.
Roger Williams won 14-of-23 face-offs and saw their goalie Luke Aubrey (Norwalk, Conn.) make 16 saves in the cage. The Hawks also held a 40-25 ground ball advantage. The home team, however, struggled with 25 turnovers and were only able to take advantage of one man-up situation in six opportunities.
Endicott were a perfect 24-of-24 on clears but also struggled on the man-advantage as Cotter score the Gulls' lone goal on five chances. Freshman Tommy Hughes (Coram, N.Y.) led the team with six ground balls with Merritt scooping four ground balls to go with his seven caused turnovers.
