CCRC CHAMPIONSHIP: No. 3 Gulls Rout No. 8 Seahawks For Conference Crown, 71-7

MALDEN, Mass. — The No. 3 nationally ranked Endicott women's rugby team defeated No. 8 Salve Regina, 71-7, on Sunday night to capture the Colonial Coast Rugby Conference (CCRC) Championship at Pine Banks Park. 

Tess Merrill (Greenwich, N.Y.) highlighted the Gulls with four tries and seven conversions.

For her efforts, Merrill was named the Player of the Match.

Endicott also saw Carolina Stubbs (Newtown, Conn.) and Katelyn Gemmell (Andover, Mass.) both score a pair of tries, while Cassidy McElhinney (Natick, Mass.), Jourdan VanAmburgh (Selkirk, N.Y.), Chloe Marconi (North Andover, Mass.), and Kaitlyn Quinn (Salem, N.H.) all found the try zone once in the victory.

WHAT'S NEXT

No. 3 Endicott (6-0) will host the National Collegiate Rugby (NCR) Small College Regional Playoffs on Saturday, November 12 and Sunday, November 13.

The Gulls will take on Colby on Saturday at 1 PM in the opening round of the four-team tournament.

The winner between Endicott and Colby will advance to the championship match on Sunday at 1 PM, while the loser will play either SUNY Cortland or Salve Regina in the consolation match at 10:30 AM.
