CCC CHAMPIONSHIP: No. 1 Endicott Hosts No. 4 UNE For League Title On Saturday (3 PM)

BEVERLY, Mass. – The top-seeded Endicott women's ice hockey team (18-4-1) will host fourth-seeded University of New England (UNE)  on Saturday, March 5 at 3 PM in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) championship game. Here's a preview of Saturday's championship matchup. 

FIVE THINGS TO KNOW

  • The No. 8 nationally ranked Gulls lead the all-time series over the Nor'easters, 9-2-0, which includes a 7-2-0 record in the regular season, and a 2-0-0 advantage in their two playoff meetings. 
  • This is the second time these two programs have clashed in the conference title game (EC, 4-1 l 3/7/20). 
  • In the three regular-season meetings this season, UNE (11-12-2) won the first matchup 3-2, while Endicott emerged victorious at home in the final two matchups, 3-0 and 3-1. 
  • The Gulls are 9-1-1 at The Nest this year, while the visiting Nor'Easters have complied a 5-7-1 record away from their home ice. 
  • Endicott enters Saturday's matchup ranked No. 2 in the conference in goals per game (3.78), while UNE is positioned fourth (2.12).

WHAT'S NEXT

The winner of Saturday's contest will be crowned the CCC Champion and earn the league's automatic bid into the NCAA tournament. The NCAA Selection Show will air on Sunday, March 6 at 8:30 PM EST on NCAA.com.
