CCC SEMIFINALS: No. 8 Women’s Ice Hockey Downs Curry, 8-0

BEVERLY, Mass. — The first-seeded and No. 8 nationally ranked Endicott women's ice hockey team defeated seventh-seeded Curry, 8-0, on Saturday night in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Semifinals at Raymond J. Bourque Arena.

Quin Healy (Melrose, Mass.), Jacy Kuhlman (Severna Park, Md.), Emmerson Hayes (Los Angeles, Calif.), Meaghan Francis (Woodbridge, Conn.), Kaylee Liberty (Arlington Heights, Ill.), Jess Michals (Westwood, Mass.), Courtney Sullivan (North Yarmouth, Maine), and Kat Keith (Westwood, Mass.) all scored in the victory.

In goal, Michaela O'Brien (Pembroke, Mass.) turned away eights shots to improve to 9-3-1 on the season (17-3-1 career).

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Endicott is 4-0-0 all-time against Curry (22-0 scoring differential).
  • With the win, the Gulls improved to 9-1-1 at The Nest this season.
  • Seventh-seeded Curry advanced to the CCC Semifinals by defeating second-seeded Suffolk, 3-2, in the quarterfinals on February 23.
  • O'Brien notched her fourth shutout of the season (fifth career).
  • Endicott scored a playoff record eight goals (the previous high was five).

WHAT'S NEXT

First-seeded Endicott (18-4-1) will host fourth-seeded University of New England in the CCC Championship on Saturday, March 5 at a time to be determined later.

Curry's season comes to a close at 4-22-1 overall.
