Softball Defeats Lasell, 13-0 (5 inn.)

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott softball team defeated Lasell, 13-0, in five innings on Thursday evening.

WP (5-2): Kristen Beebe (Brentwood, N.H.) – 3 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 3 BB, 4 K
LP (0-1): Grace LeClair (Swanzey, N.H.) – 1.2 IP, 9 H, 10 R, 10 ER, 3 BB, 1 K

The Gulls scored 10 runs in the second inning to run away with the victory.

Katie Watts (Swampscott, Mass.) highlighted the frame with a bases-clearing triple to make it a 5-0 contest.

Remington Casida (Coventry, Conn.) knocked in the first and last run of the frame, while Paige Berdos (Plainville, Mass.), Chloe Shapleigh (Lynnfield, Mass.), and Elyse Saccoccio (Coventry, R.I.) all drove one run apiece.

The other two runs were scored on wild pitches.

In the third, Shapleigh rounded out the scoring with a three-run shot to right field.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Today's game was the first-ever meeting between the two programs.
  • Game two was not played today due to the late start of game one/no lights.
  • Endicott is 5-0 at home this season.
  • The Gulls snapped Lasell's three-game winning streak.
  • Shapleigh now has six home runs on the year (leads CCC).
  • The 10-run second inning is the highest scoring inning for the Gulls this season.

Endicott (13-4) travels to Hartford on Saturday at 12/2 PM. Lasell (11-8) hosts Dean this Saturday at 12/2 PM.
