O'Connor Claims CCC Pitcher of the Week Honors

CCC Athletes of the Week

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) released their weekly awards and  reining CCC Pitcher of the year, senior Nell O'Connor (Harwich, Mass.) tabbed her first weekly honor of the season for her efforts this past week at the Dot Richardson Spring Games as she went 2-0 in the circle.

On top of her 2-0 week the senior was a big contributor to the Gulls success at the spring games as they improved to a 6-2 overall record to start up the season. O'Connor came in against St. Norbert on the relief and hurled just over five innings to get the comeback 11-6 victory while only allowing three hits.

In a battle with regional opponent Plymouth State, O'Connor pitched an entire seven innings while retiring seven with strikeouts to secure the 9-6 decision. In three separate innings the senior retired three aside in the 3rd, 4th and 6th inning.

Endicott will start Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action when they face a packed weekend of conference play. First on Friday, March 28th they will travel to Salve Regina for a double header at 4/6 p.m. and the following day they will host their first game of the 2014 season against Eastern Nazarene at 12/2 p.m. On Sunday, March 30th they will wrap up the weekend on the road at Curry for a 1/3:30 p.m. start.
