Bilafer Receives ECAC Player of the Week Award

CENTERVILLE, Mass. – Senior Jesse Bilafer (Concord, Mass.) of the Endicott softball team has received additional recognition for her performance last week. Bilafer was named the Corvias Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III New England Softball Player of the Week after being awarded her first conference accolade of the season on Monday.

Bilafer enjoyed a stellar week at the plate, batting .524 (11-for-21) with two doubles, two triples, one grand slam home run, nine RBIs, eight runs scored and three stolen bases in a 5-2-1 week for the Gulls, including a 4-0 record in CCC play. Bilafer, who hit safely in all eight games, collected four hits, and six RBIs in a win and a tie against North Shore rival Salem State, including a sixth-inning grand slam in the nightcap that helped fend off a loss. The senior added two hits and an RBI in a doubleheader against Wellesley, chipped in two hits, two stolen bases, two runs scored, and an RBI in a sweep of Eastern Nazarene, and added three hits, an RBI, and two runs scored in a sweep of University of New England. Bilafer did not strikeout in 21 at bats.
